Preservation Division To meet its responsibilities, the division maintains a Conservation Unit to apply remedial treatments to the more valuable items in the collections, a Binding Unit to meet binding and rebinding needs and Reprographic and Photographic Units providing an imaging service, including microfilm and digital imaging, to the Library and its users. At present, the Preservation and Conservation Division consists of 24 staff members. The National Library of Scotland offers advice on collections care to the library community in Scotland. Any requests for conservation treatment by NLS would be treated on its own merit and an application would have to be submitted to the Librarian, Martyn Wade.
