A major new report published by the National Burns Collection Project has been launched in the Scottish Parliament. `The Road to 2009` sets out a series of recommendations to make Scotland`s Burns heritage the centre of celebrations in 4 years time to mark the 250th anniversary of the birth of the Bard.

A rare copy of the song Auld Lang Syne by Robert Burns is currently on display in the new Scottish Parliament. On loan from Burns Cottage Museum in Alloway, the song - sung by Eddi Reader at the opening of the new Holyrood building in October - has become a worldwide anthem.
