<title>January 2011 - an unpublished letter of Burns, discovered at Floors Castle</title>
<description>An unpublished letter of Burns, discovered at Floors Castle in the Scottish Borders, was verified in January 2011 by Prof. David Purdie, Editor of the Burns Encyclopaedia - and Dr Iain Brown of the National Library of Scotland. Sent from his farm of Ellisland in 1789 to Prof. James Gregory, head of the Edinburgh Medical School, the letter encloses an early draft of Burns's Poem 'On seeing a wounded Hare' and invites Gregory to comment on the work.</description>
