Burns Family Bible

Burns bought this bible in 1788 for £2 from an Edinburgh bookseller. In it he inscribed the names of his wife, Jean Armour, and seven of their children: Robert, Jean, two unnamed twins who died in infancy, Francis Wallace, William Nicol and Elizabeth Riddell. Burns' children themselves added the names of two later children, James Glencairn and Maxwell.
