Burns Monument

Opened in 1823, the magnificent Burns Monument and Gardens are well placed to gain spectacular views of Burns Cottage, Brig o’ Doon and Alloway Auld Kirk.

 
Monument

A 3-sided base representing the historic local districts of Kyle, Carrick and Cunninghame surmounted by a ring of Ionic columns (9 in total for each of the Muses) rises to 70 feet in height. Inside the Monument is a marble bust of Burns by the sculptor, Park.
