Burns Room 2

Robert Burns - W.G. Stevenson

Burns Statues

This small model of Burns is a maquette of the life-size statue (pictured) that now stands in Burns Monument, Kilmarnock. Burns is depicted in the midst of composition with pencil and book in hand. The positioning of the statue in the monument is such that Burns looks towards Kilmarnock Cross where his first book was published in 1786. Stevenson’s statue was unveiled in 1879.
