Burns Treasures

The Robert Burns Centre beside the River Nith in Dumfries tells the story of Burns time in Dumfriesshire whilst the Mausoleum, the poet’s final resting place can be found across the river in St Michael’s Kirkyard. The poet’s family homes of Ellisland Farm and his last home, Robert Burns House have been preserved and filled with objects that he would recognise. The Globe Inn, his favourite pub in Dumfries, his favourite pub still maintains a successful business for locals and visitors alike. Burns’ legacy, his printed works, are preserved in this locality. The Ewart Library in Dumfries and Broughton House in Kirkcudbright both have important editions of Burns’ work in their care.
